Elise Massa

MUSIC MINISTER, SONGWRITER

Elise Massa is the Assistant Director of Music and Worship Arts at Church of the Ascension (Anglican) in Pittsburgh, PA. Elise is co-founder of the Ascension Songwriters Collaborative which encourages local songwriting from within the church body to form the lives of Ascension's congregation. Elise is also the Northeast Regional Leader for United Adoration, a global non-profit which seeks to assist churches and artists build creative communities to ignite the imagination for the Kingdom of God.


As a songwriter, Elise's songs are rooted in stark truth and whimsical hope, ranging from parables to psalms to modern-day hymns to liturgical folk music. All songs are crafted to encourage the lives of the living and perhaps reluctant saints.


Her new EP, Sunrise: Songs for the Morning, contains folk-styled songs based on and inspired by Anglican Morning Prayer. Sunrise is the first of four Daily Office EPs to be released over the coming years (Lord willing).
